Ear Nose Throat Surgeon - MBBCh, FRACS (ORL-HNS)
Dr Daron Cope is an Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon with specialised training in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery. His extensive post-specialty fellowship training in London, Canada and Paris has resulted in a high level of expertise and experience in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland pathology and Head and Neck Cancer management.
He is committed to provide Head and Neck Cancer services to the Hunter region with a patient centric focus and continues to be involved in clinical research, teaching and lecturing to medical students, surgical trainees and allied medical staff.
Radiation Oncologist - BMedsSci(Hons) BMBS MRCP (UK) FRCR FRANZCR
Dr Matt Mason is a Radiation Oncologist at GenesisCare. Having graduated from Nottingham University he trained as a Clinical Oncologist in Leeds, UK.
Intrigued by technical radiotherapy and head and neck cancer management he sought and completed a clinical fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Canada. Head and neck cancer management is challenging, and Matt is passionate about working in a team that strives to provide optimal patient centred care.
Maxillofacial Surgeon - MBBS BDSc FRACDS (OMS)
Dr Eileen Tan-Gore, is a Maxillofacial Surgeon with post-Fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgery. She has a particular interest in Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgery as well as post treatment oral rehabilitation. She practices in Newcastle and the Taree/Forster regions.
She is committed to providing comprehensive cancer care in the Hunter region.
Physiotherapist - PhD, BAppSc(Physiotherapy), ALA Lymphoedema Practitioner
Dr Aoife McGarvey has been a Physiotherapist for over 20 years, specialising in Physiotherapy and Lymphoedema Therapy for those undergoing cancer treatment. Her pioneering research for head and neck cancer survivors has led to greatly improved physiotherapy management.
Physio Living’s focus is on early screening of common physical conditions experienced after cancer surgery and treatment. Our ethos is pro-active management, leading to enhanced and quicker recovery from pain and restriction.
Speech Pathologist - B.Sp. Path., PhD Candidate
Claire is a certified practicing speech pathologist. She completed her Bachelors of Speech Pathology at the University of Newcastle in 2011. Claire is particularly interested in working with patients with head and neck cancer, and she provides speech pathology services to patients having radiotherapy at GenesisCare Newcastle.
Claire is also a clinical researcher and will soon submit her PhD. She is well published in the areas of head and neck cancer and lymphoedema, and has presented her work at various national and international conferences.
Dietitian - APD
Kelly Stephenson is a local accredited practicing dietitian (APD), with 25 years experience in clinical dietetics.
She is passionate about optimising nutrition before, during and after cancer diagnosis and treatment.
She offers practical solutions and strategies to assist with achieving the best diet possible.
Kelly has worked in local hospitals, and clinics. She has special interest in enteral nutrition, diabetes and Aboriginal health.
General Manager
My career in Health Management has been varied and interesting I love my current position with Hunter ENT. I have been employed, for the last 10 years as Practice Manager and as the business has grown to General Manager for Hunter ENT, a group of 5 ENT Specialists, & Hunter ENT Hearing. I hold a Diploma of Professional Practice Leadership, I am a Certified Practice Manager.
Health Management has been my life, my experience is varied but always interesting. Its involved General Manager of a Day Surgery & 2 Endoscopy Centres in Brisbane, HR Manager of Tiwi Health Board in Darwin, Practice Manager in GP practices & Office Manager in a Private Hospital.
